DANGEROUS SITUATIONS IN SCHOOL PARKING LOT

Parents are reminded not to park their cars and walk to the afternoon dismissal area. You are placing your child in danger and you are not obeying school rules. The parking lot between Saint Andrew Catholic Church and Saint Andrew Towers is off limits for afternoon parking. It is critical that adults who are picking school students up or dropping them off at Saint Andrew be in the car line and follow the directions of school staff. The example that you set for the students is dangerous and inappropriate. There have been several collisions and near misses of people being hit by a car because of this dangerous practice and disregard for safety. Any family not complying with the rules and expectations is subject to dismissal from Saint Andrew Catholic School.  Thank you for your cooperation. Kristen Hughes, Principal.

Speech Screenings

The ability to understand and express yourself through spoken and written communication is a vital skill for success in both school and later in the workplace. Working to improve any areas of concern may assist your child to improve their literacy skills, speak intelligibly in order to be understood by others, and increase self-esteem.

Barbara L. Fischler, M.S., C.C.C., Speech and Language Pathologist and Director of Coral Springs Speech and Language Center, Inc. currently provides Speech and Language therapy for students attending Saint Andrew Catholic School. In January, Mrs. Fischler will be conducting speech and language screenings for students at Saint Andrew Catholic School that are not already receiving speech and language services.

The screenings will begin on January 16, 2014. If you would like your child’s speech and language screened, please contact Tricia A. Clarke at tclarke@sacccs.org for the short registration form.  The cost of the screening is $30, and you will be notified of the results and be advised if further evaluation is recommended for your child. Mrs. Fischler will be available to speak with you after the screenings.
